Select the Right Metal
One of the first things to consider when buying a new ring is the metal that it’ll be made of. At Planet Diamonds, we only carry the finest, recycled precious metals including Platinum, 18k and 14K white and yellow gold. All these metals are durable, beautiful and stylish enough to never go out of fashion.
There are four main setting styles.
Solitaire Settings
A solitaire setting has a single diamond held securely atop the ring by several prongs, or by a circular band of metal around the edge of the stone called a bezel. Solitaire settings are the most common way of displaying a diamond on an engagement ring and can be found with many designs and variations.
Settings with Side Stones
A popular option to the solitaire setting is a ring with side stones. These have diamonds set into the body of the ring and are available with a wide variety of designs and setting styles.
HALO RINGS
A halo style has a ring of diamonds set around the center stone. This popular style can be done with many center stone shapes and sizes. There are a variety of designs offered with this significant look.
Three-Stone Settings
A popular approach that has gained a lot of traction in recent years is the three-stone setting. Three stones mounted next to each other offers a beautiful and brilliantly fresh approach to still clear engagement ring style. The three stones represent the past, present, and future of your relationship.
Settings with Matching Bands
If the desire is to wear a wedding band on the same finger as the engagement ring then you can opt for settings with matching bands. You can be as ornate or as minimal as you wish.
